To transfer files from your Android device to a Windows PC using ShareMe (previously known as Mi Drop), follow the steps below:
On your Android device:
- Install the ShareMe app from the Google Play Store if you haven't already.
- Open the ShareMe app.
- Grant the necessary permissions for ShareMe to access your files and storage when prompted.
On your Windows PC:
- Make sure your Windows PC is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Android device.
- Open a web browser (such as Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge) on your PC.
Now, let's initiate the file transfer:
- 1. On your Android device, tap the Send button in ShareMe.
- 2. Select the files you want to transfer. You can choose multiple files at once.
- 3. Tap the Send button to proceed.
ShareMe will now generate a QR code on your Android device's screen.
- 4. On your Windows PC, visit the ShareMe PC website by typing the following URL in your web browser: "web.drop.xiaomi.com." Alternatively, you can use the ShareMe PC app if you have it installed on your PC.
- 5. Scan the QR code displayed on your Android device using the QR code scanner on the ShareMe PC website or app.
Once the QR code is successfully scanned:
- 6. The file transfer interface will appear on your PC screen.
- 7. Choose the destination folder on your PC where you want to save the transferred files.
- 8. Click the Receive button to start the transfer.
ShareMe will now begin transferring the selected files from your Android device to your Windows PC. The progress of the transfer will be displayed on your PC screen.
Once the transfer is complete, you'll find the transferred files in the destination folder you selected on your PC.
